Hi there, my name is Ricky. You may recognize me from a previous blog
post. I made an appearance back in December around Christmas time. I’ve
been blessed with the opportunity to share my experiences in life, both at and
before Safe Hope Home. To say that I’m a little nervous about writing the blog
is a huge understatement because I do have some pretty big shoes to fill.
Despite my nervousness, I am so excited to go on this journey with all of you.
Alright, now for a proper introduction. As you already know, My name is
Ricky. I grew up in a small town up north and moved to the city in my early
teens. From there, things kind of got a little crazy for me. My life very quickly
got flipped upside down, but today, I can proudly say that I am two years clean
and sober from all substances and have really been using my time at SafeHope
to better myself and work through past traumas.
Since coming to SafeHope, I’ve learned so many things about myself. For
example, I’m loud, I love to dance, sing, jump around, act crazy and socialize
with the other girls here in the house, which is actually quite the opposite of
who I thought I was coming into the home. Coming into SafeHope Home I
was nervous. I didn’t know what to expect and the bottom line is I was broken.
SafeHope Home has provided me with the feeling of safety and security,
which is something I have lived without for a very long time.
My ultimate goals that I would like to accomplish at SafeHope Home are to
further my education, learn about who I am as a person and set myself up to
live an independent lifestyle that is full of positivity, happiness and growth.
I hope you enjoy the new series of blog posts to come, as well as getting to
know me a little better along the way.
Ciao for now,
Ricky
Looking forward to getting to know you, Ricky!
Bless you for your courage.
